Update On The Suspicious Coughing, And A New Technique
I am a bit late to this, but I was busy most of the day, so whatever. Anyway, when I woke up I felt almost fully better. I could maybe feel the slightest of slight issues, but that was it. No coughing, sore throat, or anything like that. I was completely better, and I slept pretty well too, though I didn't sleep for very long. The barriers seemed to hold up well, too.
I find it funny that despite the intensity of the attacks, and the constant weird things happening which I've never seen before, I barely feel any fear at all from this. The only times I get spooked is when I can sense something strong near me while I'm in the dark and can't focus. Apart from that, it all just excites me to no end. I wake up excited to have the chance to fight another one of these stronger curses, and to progress as a sorcerer.
And as far as progressing goes, I'm getting stronger output wise, but I'm also gaining more control, refining my processes, and even learning a new technique. I call this new one Cavitation, because I wanna start giving them names, and also it fits the technique fairly well.
The process for Cavitation goes as such - First, I give my arms a bit of a stretch and put my hands together firmly. I hold them together and focus on making a small, sealed pocket between my hands. Then I prepare my hands and arms to dump a large amount of energy all at once. As soon as I am ready, I pull my hands apart quickly, filling the void with my energy.
Sometimes my hands and arms won't be warmed up enough and my output will be shit, and no denser than the most basic flame. I simply repeat the process and it ends up working much better, though I try to return the energy to my hands before I start again.
Once I have a large sphere of energy, I push my hands together again, creating the densest energy I've ever been able to. When it's not too dense I can keep it in a sphere and set it somewhere, like as a battery for another technique (like keeping the fire going without me having to think). When I make it too dense for me to currently handle, I'll feel the pressure in a way that's the most physical my magic has ever felt.
At that density it feels like trying to squeeze a balloon, and I feel myself having to tense my fingers to keep it contained. I had tried making this extremely dense energy because I wanted to see if I could better embue my energy into the knife using it, though I could barely get it near the knife due to the difficulty of handling it. It seemed to be absorbed though, so that's good.
I am going to work on mastering this level of density, because with how close to physical it feels, I think I might be able to make it work. I'll have to see if my partner can tell how dense it is when they come over again. They're pretty good at sensing energies, and they're the only one I know who can sense my magic reliably.
I love how exciting this all is. This house, no matter how dangerous it is at times, has been fun beyond pretty much everything else. Now we just gotta wait for my microphone to pick something up, like it did at the last house (I'll make a post about that soon-ish). Then it'll be properly wacky, and even more fun. Though I don't expect that to happen.
