Thing I Noticed About My Intuition
This doesn't super count as sorcery, but this is my blog so I can do what I want. Anyway, onto the proper post.
Yesterday I was making something with K'nex, and I noticed that I seemed to be really good at finding the different pieces in the bin of it without remembering where they got put or dumped, but as soon as I noticed that I got really bad at it. Like I couldn't find shit without searching through the whole box because suddenly I was aware that something seemed to pull me to the right pieces.
This was interesting because I've been thinking about how belief, awareness, and logic all play a part in how magic works. If you think it won't work, or doesn't make sense logically with what you already know, or you aren't aware it can be done, it won't work. Intuition not working because I'm too aware of it and suddenly thinking about it makes me wonder if the same sort of thing can happen with magic. I haven't thought about this long enough to know of any examples I might already have, but it'll probably come up later and be useful to think about.
I'm not sure exactly what thinking about it does to make it not work, but I think that it's me trying to consciously figure out what the different slight signals are instead of them being processed separately and then I do whatever comes from the result. Not sure how that works with magic, but I'll probably make another post once I do.
Also, all of my previous notes are out! You can find them here.
